Thank You Melissa

Today I drove to work at a normal time.  Something I don't do regularly as I am working from home until our new building is complete in October. (That is a whole other story) I have been working like this since June so I am out of the habit of trying to eat something good on a schedule before heading out.  Anyway, I found this 30 second milkshake from Melissa at Satisfyingeats.blogspot.com (I hope that's right)  I found it through the FB BFC stream.  I must say I really enjoyed this.  I used 3 packets of Stevia which turned out to be too much for me but I will be making again. http://satisfyingeats.blogspot.com/2012/03/melissas-30-second-weight-loss-shake.html
As you know I am still learning this blogging stuff so if I inserted this link wrong, I'm sorry and let me know how to do it differently.

It's salmon season here in Northern California and it may be in other areas as well, but I know we hear alot about it and we get great fish.  So that's what we grilled last night. Put a thin layer of mayo, season, sliced lemons and it was terrific.  I always feel so healthy when I eat Salmon.  Dr Weil always talks about how good it is for you..   Made the same coleslaw with the night before and finished with Purple Rosy's cheesecake muffins with jam.  How can any of us complain when we get to eat such great food.

I am staying focused on maintaining my portion control and find that I resent not needing to eat more to feel satisfied but I'll get past that in time.  I also am making myself think about vegetables more.  I've never been a big fan of veggies and always tried to get by with 5 fruits rather than 5 veggies to satisfy the 'rule'.  I know that never counted but geez, I've fooled myself for a long time.

Thanks for the comments from several of you who I have followed for quite awhile.  You are who I respect and have been motivated by.  If not for your blogs, I would have given up along time ago but just reading the blogs has kept BFC on my mind and wanting to try again.

  2. Great job! I feel healthy when I eat salmon too. One thing to consider about the veggies is that you can eat more food when you are filling your plate up with veg. I decided that i was going to make a big salad with every dinner, and put everything i like in the salad, and it really makes a difference. Even the kids can't resist a big bowl of salad when it has red cabbage, orange carrots, green lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and some yummy dressing on top. I also have started to add two veggies to our table, to put more of a focus on veg instead of starch. You really can't go wrong, I don't think, just put some butter and seasonings on it and the Umami (flavor) is way better! Sorry for the book here. ;)

    1. Dawn, thanks for your support. I like the idea of a salad at every meal. I haven't done that yet. But I am putting veggies in breakfast eggs when I can.

  3. Hi Nancy. Just found your blog from Rosalie's site. I have one too, but am still learning how to make my blog better and easy to follow. I love that you live in wine country. That is where my husband and I would love to live. We love St. Helena and Healdsburg and I'm sure there are lots of great little areas out there. We visit about once a year. I am like you in that my husband and I love to share a bottle of wine on the patio. That is one thing won't give up, so my weight loss isn't as quick as everyone elses. But I'm slowly getting there. Good luck to you too!!
